Broadmoor Golf Club is a Rocky Mountain Gem

This webpage is a hobby for me and not a high end champagne dreams living so I go not have a Gulfstream G650 fueled and ready to take me worldwide for a complimentary round of golf. I take advantage of golf round of opportunity based on where I might be. Recently, my wife went to a business trip in Colorado and I went along as a dutiful husband. The destination: Colorado Springs and the Broadmoor Golf Club. I did not take my clubs because I was leaving a day before her but the schedule opened and I found myself with a day to have fun. I called the pro shop and got a tee time on the West course and was grateful for the opportunity.

The Broadmoor is a beautiful property and in turn golf course.

Broadmoor Golf Club Overview

Nestled in Rocky Mountains, the Broadmoor does not offer views. It offers Vistas. From looking at the looking Rockies to Colorado Springs spread out below, Broadmoor is awesome. I was paired up with another single and a grandfather and grandson. We set out to tame this course.

The golf course was in great shape and the main takeaway was that these were the slipperiest greens I have ever played in my life. Every putt was a tap in even from 30 feet away. So many putts flew past the hole even after the lightest of strokes. It took a good six holes to gain confidence and stop 3 putting which turned out to be a victory on some holes. The key to know as that all greens break away form the mountains.

My score card. The putts were the key to not breaking 100 in the end.

If I Ran the Broadmoor Golf Club

The golf course was staffed with the nicest people. They were very helpful squeezing me into the tee times and getting me a rental set off clubs. Although, they gave me one free sleeve of balls which forced me to be a box of golf balls to not worry about running out by the 5th hole.

My recommendation would be either to do a better job at distance posting or add GPS to the carts (especially for the money I paid). There were distances painted on the cart path and the seemingly random sprinkler head. I like it when courses have at least 150 sign posts on the fairways or just off.

Favorite Hole

it is hard to pick a favorite hole since the hole course was a fun challenge. I did like the 8th hole, dog leg to the left slightly up hill off the drive. My power fade put me in the right rough and approach shot went right again putting me off the green for a chip and couple of putts.

Is Broadmoor Golf Club Worth the Money?

Yes. I justified the credit card bill with the justification of when will I be out here again. Also, it was interesting playing at 6,000′ elevation compared to my usual sea level elevation. The ball did fly a bit longer especially hitting to a green below the tee box. If you find yourself at the Broadmoor, you are already dropping some dough so add a round or two of golf.
