Golf is sometimes thought of a game for gentlemen and ladies. I know I have payed with some real characters in my days. Never have I been disgusted like Judge Smails seeing Al Czervik dancing on the fairway. I think golf can teach us all some dignity and integrity. These are the basis for the First Tee organization to our youth.
I started thinking what makes a classy golfer. But what’s does classy mean? Webster defines classy as:
- elegant, stylish
- having or reflecting high standards of personal behavior
- admirably skillful and graceful
So a classy golfer shows high standard for themselves and the rules of golf, care for the course, and a graceful love of the game.
With this in mind, let’s take a look at what is and is not an example of a classy golfer in several scenarios:
