Centennial Golf Club Offers Up & Down & Up Again Golf

I have wanted to play Centennial Golf Club for a several years.  The course is made up of three 9 hole courses: Meadows, Lakes, and Fairways.  The course is carved into the hills of Carmel, NY and offers some great views of the area. The course is a great day on the links and was fun to play.

Centennial Golf Club Overview

Centennial Golf Club is fun to play because of the way the course rolls up and down.  The changes in elevation are not extreme but enough to make some tee shots soar and make you club up to summit a green.  The course keeps their golf carts in good shape as some the hills give the transmissions some good exercise.

Centennial Golf Club Condition

I played this course in late June and the course was in solid shape. The fairways and greens were deep green and in good shape.  The greens offers some tricky breaks but rolled true and right past the hole for me.

If I Ran Centennial Golf Club

There is not much to change with the course itself.  Signage sometimes is lacking since the three 9 hole courses weave together.  Woe to the golfer who goes the wrong way out of the clubhouse.  Our group started to play the second hole of our back nine twice.  If the ranger had not waived us down, we would have ended up in an endless loop of golf.  I am not sure that is a bad thing.

Favorite Hole at Centennial Golf Club

I really enjoyed Lakes #2, a par 4 with an uphill battle to the green.  The hole makes the approach shot a challenge to climb up the hill to the green.  Like most greens at Centennial, the breaks make putting a challenge.

My Final Say

Centennial Golf Club is a pricey round of golf for me but I did not play the Meadows course yet.  I will return to try that course and give it a try.  The views are worth the drive and the course does not disappoint.  Put it on your list.
